George William Frame and Anna Dean were my 4th Great Grandparents.
Robert T. Frame and Cyrena McCaslin were my 3rd Great Grandparents.
In my notes from George Frame, father of George William Frame:
The following comes from "The Frames of Somes Bar", by Chester J. Hollis. This essay was a winner of the Humboldt County, California Historical Society's Essay Contest.
Family Tradition suggests the Frame family to be of Scotch/Irish descent, and that George Frame, the progenitor of the family, escaped from the persecutors during the famous persecution in Ireland. The story goes on to say that all members of his family were killed except he and two children. He was left for dead after an attack on the people of his vicinity, but he recovered and escaped to America. George Frame is listed on the tax rolls of ????? Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, in 1771. It is believed that he is the ancestor of the present families who traveled to Pickaway and guernsey Counties, Ohio, in the early 1800's.
Notes under George William Frame:
According to the marriage records of Ross County, Ohio 1798-1849, compiled by Robert Casari, page 81: George and Anna Dean were married 01 September 1814, Volume GB page 152.
Goerge W. Frame married Anna Dean in 1814, and his first residence was Buckskin Township, Ross County, Ohio. The family left Ohio in 1836 and traveled the river route to St. Louis, then went cross country with oxen teams to settle in Montgomery County, Illinois. George W. Frame purchased a land claim in East Fork Township, where he spent his remaining days.
When George Frame died in 1847, David Newton (or Newbow) Frame, George Craton Frame, and William Allen Frame left the family to start life for themselves.
