This biographical sketch from The History of Wayne Co., Iowa, was sent to me years ago: W. G. FRAME, one of the old settlers of Wayne Co., residing on Sec. 20, Wright Twp., was born in Montgomery Co., KY, Nov. 30, 1826, a son of John and Elizabeth (Yocom) Frame, natives of KY, the father born in Clark Co. Mar. 30, 1788, and the mother born in Montgomery Co., a daughter of George and Rebecca Yocom. Our subject's grandfather, John Frame, Sr., was a native of VA, a son of David Frame, who emigrated from Ireland to America in the year 1773 (I think this year is wrong--maybe 1733??), the latter being a son of William Frame. W.G. Frame was the eldest son of six children, their names being Jane, Matilda, Elizabeth, Nancy, WILLIAM G., and Joseph A. He grew to manhood in Montgomery Co., KY, being reared on a farm, his education being obtained by attending the common schools of his native county and study at home. He commenced teaching when 19 years of age, to which profession he devoted most of his time till 25 years of age. He was married Apr. 17, 1851, to Louisa M. Hopwood, who was also a native of Montgomery Co., KY, born Oct. 20, 1830, a daughter of William C. and Parmelia (Fox) Hopwood, the father born in VA and reared in KY, and the mother a native of Clark Co., KY. They had 11 children -- William M., Emma E., J. W. (editor of the Corydon Democrat), Margaret Belle, J. Albert, G. W., Louisa E., Owen L., Lyman A., Enos R., and Walter, who died at the age of two. In 1851 Mr. Frame locatd in McDonough Co., IL, where he lived until 1864, when he came with his family to Wayne Co., IA, and settled in Wright Twp., where he now has a fine and well-cultivated farm containing 160 acres, with good residence and farm buildings. Since coming to Wayne Co., he has devoted some time to his profession, having taught in this county in all nineteen terms. He has always taken an active interest in the educational matters of his county, and all his children have received good educational advantages, five having fitted themselves for teachers. In politics our subject was formerly a Republican, but now affiliates with the Greenback party. 1. William Milton, b. July 1852; teacher, m. 1) Rebecca Ailers 2) Laura Jane Foster Hope this helps. I have a little more info on William G. Frame's siblings if you are interested.
