I am looking for information on the Frame family from the Glasgow area. My great grandfather John Frame was sent to live in North Shields around 1900 to a relative (uncle?). He thought he had been born in 1888 and had lost both his parents in an accident(?) as a child, but none of his relatives in Scotland could take him, hence sent to North Shields. He did not recall having any siblings, and was never really clear about his childhood or age when sent to North Shields, but could remember relatives living in a big house with a stream or river at the bottom of the garden. This is the only information he was ever able to give us, my grandmother (his daughter) was always desperate to find her paternal family, but never could. I would really like to hear if anyone has information about him or his family. he was possibly related to the Smillie Frames of Calton.
