Rufus M. Fraley
I am desperately seeking the direct descendants of Rufus M. Fraley son of Nancy Fraley and James Clay. He was born 27 January 1849 in Russell County, Virginia to Nancy Fraley out of wedlock. He had a half sister Louisa Fraley Johnson and a half sister Elizabeth Cook Greer. Rufus married Mary Manus, daughter of Absolum and Martha Manus, about 1875 in Lawrence County, OH. Their children are Rosa D. "Rosie", James S., Martha E. "Mattie" who married John Anderson, Mary S. "Mollie" who married a Krantz, Ida H. who married William H. Wilkins, John S., Hazel B. who married a Bailey, Alice Mae who married a McDonald, and George D. Fraley. Rufus was a drummer boy in the Civil War for the Confederacy and moved to New Castle, Lawrence County, PA to be with his sisters and mother about 1889. He died 22 February 1933 in New Castle, Lawrence County and is buried in Greenwood Memorial Park in that city.
I would LOVE to speak to one of his direct descendants. I have pictures and information I would love to share with them.
Sincerely,
Keli
