FRAME DNA PROJECT - Invitation to participate
The FRAME DNA PROJECT established in 2006 is inviting Frame males of natural descent to participate in a new round of Y-DNA tests. Testing for the project is carried out by Family Tree DNA in Houston Texas. Those with variants of the surname including FRAIN, FRANE, FREAN, FRAYNE, FRAM, FRAHM are all welcome to participate. Members in the first round of tests are from the United States, New Zealand and Australia, however recruits from England, Ireland, the Continent, Canada, the Caribbean and other locations where Frames are known to have settled, are encouraged to join.
The FRAME DNA PROJECT hopes to determine:
* How many different common ancestors are associated with the FRAME surname -
* What their points of origin were -
* If any of the surname variants relate to a common FRAME ancestor -
* Which lines are related to each other -
* Which researchers should collaborate because they share a common ancestor -
The Y-DNA test is for males only, and the 37-marker test is the recommended entry level for the FRAME DNA PROJECT. However, Frame (and variant surname)women who wish to take part can do so by having a male relative - father, grandfather, brother, uncle or cousin - provide the DNA sample with a painless cheek swab.
For those wishing to order test kits directly from Family Tree DNA, please do so through the FRAME DNA PROJECT webpage at www.familytreedna.com as there is a considerable saving on cost. If you have any enquiries, please contact the project co-administrator Julie Frame Falk at: [email protected]
