In reference to the first message. I could not locate a Weiss Fraikes. After browsing the Internet, I found an unusual name that closely fit the pronunciation used by my grandmother.
I beleive the name of Pearl's immigrant grandfather was Dewsweuxj Fraikes. I found this at Genealogy.com, but could not access the CD. I do know however, that Dewsweuxj was on the Indiana census for 1860.
1. Does anyone have information on this man or this family?
2. Does anyone know the national origin of this name?
3. Can anyone tell me how to pronounce this name?
4. Is this name a variation of "Ludwig?"
This is the most unusual name I have encountered thus far. Any help or assistance is appreciated. Thank You.
