Dear Hayley Pleased to be of help and to find another long lost relative. William and Elizabeth Fradd met and married in Little Petherick (a small village between Padstow and Wadebridge) and subsequently moved to Padstow. They had 9 children with Joseph being the youngest. He was known to be a sawyer when he married Catherine T M O Ball in 1846. He must have moved away from Padstow prior to his marriage as Catherine came from Madron (near Penzance) and both Jane and Elizabeth were born there. Josiah was born on Tresco, one of the Isles of Scilly off the Cornish coast with Joseph's occupation given as Acting Coastguard and Greenwich pensioner, suggesting he had become involved with the sea. The 1851 cencus shows Joseph and Catherine OLIVER (not Fradd) as visitors to the home of Robert and Catherine Oliver in Penzance. Jane Molesworth and Elizabeth Oliver were at the home of James and Catherine Ball in Penzance (parents or grandparents of Catherine). Again in 1861 the family are still shown as Oliver (including Jane this time so no real idea as to exactly who her parents were). In 1871 family using surname Fradd again and then in 1881 the marriage of Josiah and Mary ann Way is shown with their first child (again Josiah Oliver) born in Cardiff. 1891 shows Josiah and Mary living in Cardiff with their 5 children and they went on to have 2 more. It seems that Josiah's children remained in Cardiff so there could be more relatives still living there. If I find out anything else I will let you know.
