The surname Foy is an anglicised form of the Gaelic O Fiach.
The Gaelic word O Fiach means "raven"
The O Fiach clan belonged originally to County Fermanagh.
In Enniskillen as far back as 1482, according to the annals of the four masters.

This came from the Historical Research centre, (Family name history)
But
I have found Foys in England as early as 1300??
Any thoughts, anyone?
Karen
