Just to register my interest in the FOXWELLs of Croscombe (and possibly Shepton Mallet) Somerset.
For those researching Croscombe, a searchable database can be found at: http://www.freereg.org.uk/cgi/Search.plhttp://www.freereg.org.uk/cgi/Search.pl
It covers baptisms from about 1767-1880s, marriages 1790-1839, burials 1747-1890s. Although some of these years may be incomplete. Check status: http://freereg.rootsweb.com/parishes/som/c.shtml#1http://freereg.rootsweb.com/parishes/som/c.shtml#1
I am sure that many or most of the Foxwells of Croscombe are related (it is only a small village).
My ascendants are:
George FOXWELL m Ann (possibly TRUTCH), and had the following:
1. Ann Mary FOXWELL (c1828- )
2. Charles FOXWELL (c1829-1842)
3. George FOXWELL (1831-1888) m Mary Ann MOON, had issue*.
4. Eliza FOXWELL (1833-1833)
5. Eliza FOXWELL (c1834-1858)
6. Grace FOXWELL (c1836- )
*Issue of George FOXWELL & Mary Ann MOON:
George & Mary Ann moved to Bedminster/Bristol.
3.1. Mary Eliza (or Eliza Mary) FOXWELL (1852- ) m Henry NAISH (later NASH), and had issue.
3.2. George FOXWELL (1854-1857)
3.3. Mary FOXWELL (c1858- ) m Edwin Henry ELLIS, had issue (this is my line).
3.4. Frank FOXWELL (1860- )
3.5. Tom FOXWELL (c1857- )
These are still early days for me working on this line. George FOXWELL snr is a sticking point at the moment, and I cannot confirm his parents at this stage. He was a Coal Hallier (coal carrier, waggoner).
Please feel free to get in touch.
Regards
Anne
