Regarding Item 2 of William's will, daughter Tabitha's married name should be PETTUS rather than Patten. Son Edward was Edward Craddock Pettus, named after Tabitha's first husband Edward Craddock. Martha was Edward Craddock's daughter. By the time of this will, Martha had married Samuel Buckhannon/Bowhannon/Bohannon in Madison Co. AL. Tabitha's 2nd husband and father of EC Pettus was Freeman Pettus. The family had arrived in AL from VA abt 1812 and left AL for TX to join Stephen Austin's colony abt 1822.
