Hi Sallie, I have a Jeffress chart that was created in 1906 by Edna Florence Jeffress. My mother inherited it. It has errors, I already know from talking to other Jeffress family members. But it has a Lucretia Jeffress who married a man named Jennings Fowlkes and that sounds like your bible. Lucretia and Jennings have no dates and their ancestral line goes no farther on the chart. But her parents are given as Coleman Jeffress, b. about 1766 m. Narcissa Hamlette. This was the brother of my ancestor, Richard James Jeffress b. 1770, died 4/1/1841 who married Nancy Hamlette on 10/20/1803. The father and mother of Coleman on my chart are given as John b. 1830 (all in Virginia)who married Mary Jennings. But I've since learned that the parents were Thomas Jeffress and Mary Gunn. Their father on my chart is given as John FitzGeoffreys, supposedly from Ireland, immigrated with two bothers and settled in Hell's Corners, Lunenberg County, Va. about 1700. One brother settled in Pennsylvania; one in Mississippi, John in Va. (the chart says). Other messages I've read say that John came from England. John FitzGeoffrey's wife's name is not mentioned on my chart. It says the second John (apparently Thomas who married Mary Gunn) dropped the Fitz (btw, Fitz is an Irish appellation, so I tend to think they came from Ireland, but I'm not sure.) Hope this helps.
