On one of the submissions, it references a book on the FOWLER family.

I did find the family on the 1920 census. This is from HeritageQuest Online:
1920 East Lumberton, Lumberton Township, Robeson County, North Carolina Census - ED 126, Page 178B - Enumerated 6 & 7 January:
All household members were born in South Carolina, as well as their parents, except for the boarder William Spovey who was born in NC.
