The legend has it that three Fowler brothers of English ancestry immigrated to America, one to Pennsylvania, one to Connecticut, and one to New York. It was also assumed that all these Fowlers originated from William Fowler of New Haven, Conn. the magistrate of 1637.(Fowler Genealogy by Rev. Paul Goss) Henry Fowler immigrated to Roxbury, Mass. with John Foote. Then in 1654 removed to Providence, RI . June 4, 1655 Henry married Rebecca Newell, daughter of Abraham Newell.(I have a note that they were married in John Foote's House) Henry and Rebecca had eleven children. Henry, Rebecca, William, George, John, James, Mary, Sarah, Newell, Grace, and Jeremiah. Take note of the next part: Jeremiah married Sarah Dusenbury (History of town of Newburgh). Jeremiah's youngest son David (b. June 13, 1728) married 1st Deborah Haight, 2nd Sarah. This is where my line leads to Pennsylvania.
