**Need to know childrens names trying to link to my grandfather William M. Rosson born 2/14/1859 in Lawrence Tenn.**
I wasn't sure if you meant that you needed the names of Sarah and William Rosson's children here or not..but I did look at my 1860 Lawrence County, TN census and did a quick check.
In 1860 there was a William Rosson listed in the 3rd Civil District. It lists the following:
Rosson, William,35M, Occupation Farmer, Born in TN
Rosson, Sarah A.,21F, Born in TN
Rosson, James, 3M, born in TN
Rosson, Infant, 6/12F, born in TN
I also checked out the 1870 census online and came up with the following...not sure if this is the same family or not but it looks really close. I don't know if you have access to any census records or not...but if you do the following can be found in Lawrence County, Tenn, 3rd Civil District, page 12, dwelling # 160, Family # 165.
R--son, Sarah A., 34F, Occupation:Keeping House, born in TN
" ", James M., 12M, Occupation:Farm Laborer, born in TN
" ", Louisa -., 10F, born in TN
" ", Wm. M., 8M, born in TN
" ", B.B.J.D., 6M, born in TN
***Note: The reason I have the last name as R--son is that I couldn't read what the letters were where the -s are. It could be rosson, ranson, rasson, etc... I just wasn't positive what to make it out as***
I hope this helps. I'm pretty sure what Dorothy posted about there being probably 3 Sarah Fousts around that time period is correct. I know that Hiram Foust and Jane White had a Sarah A. Foust and who knows if some of Hiram's brothers in the area also named one of their daughters Sarah A. I'm sure if you can figure out which Foust your Sarah belongs to much more information will be available.
