St. Charles (Kane County, Illinois) Chronicle, May 23, 1902, Illinois News: Aged Negress Dies Suddenly. An aged negress of Edwardsville, known as "Aunt" Emily Fountain, a familiar figure about the streets during the past forty or more years, died suddenly without medical attendance. An inquest was held over the remains, the verdict being that death was due to general debility. She was past 90 years of age. (Posted as a courtesy, not related.)
