Robert Foulger 1761 Norfolk

Hi all
I'm new to this forum and researching my Foulger line from Norfolk, UK. In particular I'd be interested if anybody has any ancestors for Robert Foulger b1761 in Southrepps Norfolk.
I'm also working on the theory that Foulgers were originally Fougeres and came from Normandy or Brittany in France - possibly as early as the Norman conquest and being descendants of De Fougeres who acquired land in Norfolk (according to the Doomsday Book). I have seen other suggestions that Foulger is a corruption of Fulcher and possibly Germanic in origin but I'm not convinced. Certainly, in Brittany, there are today Foulgers and other derivations of the same name. Has anyone any ideas that might back up this theory?
Incidentally - I have all Robert's descendants if anyone wants them.
Thanks for any help
