Dear Michele,
I'm researching a large family of FOUCHET, french Huguenots, in Strasburg, Uckermark, Brandenburg, Prussia now Germany. My line goes back to 1628 in Thierache, Picardie, France where they fled the catholic french resecution. The name is pronounced as your name. So you should also look for FUQUA, FOUQUE and similiar names. The spelling varied widely.
Have a nice Christmas.
Ina Friling from Germany
