For the Fouche Family, I received yesterday a book titled, "The Historian's Guide to Loudoun County,Virginia 1757-1766, Volume 1. And in it are 9 references to 3 Fouch's; Jacob,John, and Mary. I will list them in order to page numbers. Pg-149 November 13, and November 14,1759 - In the County Levy,debits for the payment of the guards, of prisoners Thomas Dean and William Robinson,at the prison are listed:(there are 19 names listed,but the 18th name is) Jacob Fouch. Book A,pp.302 and 303. Pg-159 The extradition of John Maris was not Loudoun's first--his was preceeded by the extradition to Maryland of John Fouch and Jacob Fouch on theft charges in 1758.[Hening, VI/359-360 and VI/369; ifra, The Record,p.171]. Pg-164 October 16,1758 - In the first case of an extadition ordered by the Loudoun County Court, John Fouch and Jacob Fouch are brought before the Court "on Suspicion of...stealing of a Plough Share and Colter and an Iron Pott (of) the property of Sarah Orton...it appearing that the Felony was committed in...Maryland...[the Loudoun County Court orders them to] be sent [to Maryland]for their Trial...[and they are then]...Ordered [to be taken]into the [custody]of an Officer of the Court,"meaning the Sheriff and his Deputies, for transfer to Maryland authorities. Book A,pp. 167 and 173-174. Pg-169 March 14,1764 - Alexander Bowling and John Fouch are charged with "Stealing an Ax the property of Hugh Fouch...Jacob Shilling,James Abbett and James Ross [testifying,both of the defendants are]acquitted and discharged." Book B,p.281 Pg-482 September 10,1766 - Alice Fouch is identified as the wife of Jacob Fouch. Book C,p. 195. Pg-506 June 12,1760 - Cornelius Donohue and his wife Margaret Donohue,John Sinkler and his wife Sarah Sinkler, and Isaac Fouch and his wife Mary Fouch bring a Complaint in Chancery against Jane McDowell and Ann McDowell,Executors of the Will of Mary Jennings,deceased. Book A,p.371. Pg-512 June 13,1766 - "Cornelius Donohue and Margaret Donohue his wife,John Sinkler and Sarah Sinkler his wife,and Isaac Fouch and Mary Fouch his wife [sue James Abbitt [sic]and Ann Abbitt his wife, and John Dodd and Jane Dodd his wife,Executors of [the Estate of] Mary Jennings." Book C,p. 130. If any of you in the Fouche Family do not have this information, it will help sort things out.
