Hi all,
I've recently been given a lot of documents regarding my family tree and I'm trying to trace back a few generations, if possible.
I have the birth certificate of my great-grandmother and it lists her parents' names. In this thread I'm most interested in her mother, Jane McInnes (maiden surname Fotheringham)
She married Andrew McInnes December 31, 1885
Had a daughter, Mary, May 1, 1887
After these two events, I know nothing more of their lives.
I'm in Canada and really am not sure how to go about digging for information in another country so if anyone out there has any pointers that would help, I would be grateful.
