James Foster and Katherine McGlade, PA, 1800's
I have the following from a 1974 family reunion, compiled by a Jack Foster:
1>Children of James Foster (b. 1805, d. ca 1861) and Katherine McGlade (b. March 18, 1807, in Ireland, d. Jan. 18, 1878): [not in order]
2>Sarah Ann Foster - b. June 24, 1851 in Lancaster County, PA, d. 1938, m. 1) Loser, m. 2)John Louis Ferry
[these are my gg grandparents] According to the note, Sarah Ann Foster was the second youngest of 14 children, and when she was born, her parents were living at Speedwell Farm in northern Lancaster County, PA. The farm was owned by the Freemans, and James Foster was the farm manager. "When Sarah was about 10 years old, her father was kicked by an unruly horse and died shortly thereafter from his injuries. After his death the mother moved the family to Lebanon County, PA."
2>William Foster, m. Catherine McClean
2>Rose Foster
2>Richard Foster
2>Elizabeth Foster d. age 2 1/2
2>John Foster, m. Elizabeth Pence
2>Margaret Foster, m. Adam Allwein
2>Cyrus Foster -Civil War Veteran
2>Isabel Foster, m. William Yake
2>Catherine Foster, m. Deininger
2>James Foster d. age 2 1/2
2>George Foster
2>Emma Foster, m. William Kuhn
2>Charles Foster, m. Elizabeth Arnold
I am not sure that all of this is accurate, does anyone have any information on these people?? My grandmother's records conflict with this, as she lists Sarah Ann Foster's parents as William Foster and a McCauliff, and has her born in 1848.
According to my father, there is a link to Stephen Collins Foster, but everyone says they are related to somebody famous!
Can anyone help?? Thanks! -Carol Black
