Sandi, You mentioned Abigail Foster, a sister of Sarah Foster, who I hadn't heard of. So, I looked in www.familysearch.com for any children born between 1780 and 1799 in Barnard, Windsor, Vermont, whose father was named John Foster. This search found Abigail Foster and Sarah Foster, as well as a John Foster born 15 Dec 1784. Is this the source of your information that your John Foster, who married Mahala Richmond, was born about 1784? As I guessed, John Foster had children named Experience, Anna and William. (My many other guesses didn't work.)
The following children were born on the dates shown to John Foster and an unknown mother. All were born in Barnard Township, Windsor, Vermont, according to www.familysearch.com:
Abigail Foster 25 Feb 1783
John Foster15 Dec 1784
Sarah Foster18 Apr 1787
Experience Foster25 Jul 1794
Anna Foster28 May 1797
The reference is film or fiche number 0027550 or 0027551 ;
General Index to Vital Records of Vermont, early to 1870,

www.familysearch.com also has these entries:
Anna FOSTERBirth:29 May 1798

(No source given.)
William FOSTERSex:MBirth:Abt. 1798

There are probably more children whose names I haven't guessed or who are missing from the records, perhaps because of dying young.
