Richard,
The family in Eastland and Limestone Counties was that of
Thomas Seale Head and his wife Temperance Bullard, both of whom are buried in Rising Star. They had James D. Head who married Emma J. McNight; Thomas Wesley Head who married Margaret Elizabeth Johnson; Malinda Elizabeth Head who married Charles Henry Clark; Mary Delila Head who married Henry Foster; and Irene Head who married Clyde a McClure.
Thomas Wesley Head and his wife are also buried in Rising Star.
Henry was in Brown County in 1880, and Thomas says in his pension application that he had lived in Brown County,
he is in the 1880 census in that county on page 412B, right next to Thomas!
For some reason I keep thinking that my Aunts mentioned a Virgil Foster, but if they did, I have absolutely no record of it!Moreover, I cannot imagine Henry going to Brown County from Panola County without knowing someone there, even if many of James Foster's children did seem to have wandering feet. One of the states James P. gives as his birth state is Georgia, but he gave a different one in almost every census.
It is really gnawing on me!I will keep hunting for an
answer/connection.
Nan
