Alanna...I'm going to try this again. You'll have to read my other reply. I never got the email from genforum that sais youhad replied to my message of Sept. 02.Sorry about that.Hopefully you'll get this one.If I don't hear from you in a few days I'll email you directly. In the BC archives I found a death for a Thomas Ewell Foster died July 06, 1977 at the age of 95 and he died in New Westminster. That would of made him born in 1882.I looked in the IGI's at family search and I could only find two birth records for a Thomas Foster in late 1800's.One was for a Thomas William Foster born Dec.5, 1879 in Port Hope, Durham Co. Ontario.Father being Thomas Foster
Mother being Leila Nowell. The other one was for Thomas Foster born Feb. 25, 1884 in Dundalk, Grey Co. Ontario. But it never said who his parents were.Couldn't find a marriage recored for either one of the Thomas's.I searched around and found out that Artemesia (as it is spelled) is now called Flesherton, named after one of the first settelers William K. Flesher.I couldn't no birth records in the IGI's for a Linda Cripps and I also couldn't find any birth records in the BC Archives for Mildred Anne, Anne Mildred or Amelia, or Ernest or Ross.I tried last name Foster and Cripps. If they were indeed born between 1912-1919 then the problem is because you can only get death records from the Archives if they are 100 years or more old.So thats probably why.I'm not so sure now of the Cripps/Foster connection to your family. In our family it was an William Edward Cripps that married Frances Mary Foster in our family and I beleive it took place in Gainsborugh, Sask.William Edward I think was even born there in Sask. But somewhere down the line the Fosters were in Ontario because they came there from England around 1852.Now this info comes from someone else in our family, but there is a Thomas Foster born Sept. 19, 1884 in Scott Twp. ON. Parents John Foster and Margaret Ross.Thomas married unknown woman after 1901.One child listed as Thomas Leslie Foster born about 1903, but unknown where. The possibilities are un limited that somewhere there is a connection.I love this genealogy stuff and I love searching for info, so if you don't mind me searching for you I'd love to help you out if I can.I need to know a little bit more if you know it.Your uncle Ernest, after he and the others were put in the orphanage they never had any contact with Thomas and Linda again?Did all the children get separated and then never seen or had contact with each other again? Were the children adopted by any other people that their last names were changed and it wasn't Foster anymore?Your moms dad was Peter Jenewin and he married Mildred Anne Foster?Do you know where and when?
One thing I've learned with this genealogy, is that the more info you have to go on, the easier it is to start finding out stuff.I'm still researching our Fosters who came from England. They have been traced back as far as 1700 in Yorkshire. So like I said anything is possible.Could find out that your Thomas's family also is from England and there could be ties there. It was very common for the father to givr the 1st. son his name. Are you just mostly interested in finding out what happened to Thomas and Linda after they split up?Anyways thats probably enough questions for now till I hear from you again.I hope you get an email from genforum saying I replied to your message.Till next time..Donna
