Fosher/Foster - Texas Civil War
I have an original Treasury Warrant, yellow with age, from the State of Texas. The handwriting
looks like it is made out to "A. Fosher", but since I cannot find that name, the closestname
would be "Foster".The warrant reads:
"Under Act of Jan'y 14, 1862, for Military Service, the Treasurer of the State of Texas Will Pay
FIVE DOLLARSToA. Fosher (Foster???)(unreadable) Bearer.
Comptroller's Office,
Austin, Oct. 1, 1862(Signed) C. R. Johns
Registered:H. Winkel ????
Does this fit in with the genealogy of anyone's family?I would like to hear from you.
