Jesse Foster, 1840 Tippah Co., Mississippi
Does anyone know anything about the Jesse Foster on the 1840 Tippah Co. census? I'm trying to ascertain whether he is the same Jesse Foster who was the son of Thomas Foster and Prudence Worsham in old Lunenburg Co., Va. Their son Jesse would have been born about 1765. The one in Tippah is a perfect fit. According to the census he was born between 1760-1770.
I have Thomas Foster's children as Claiborne, William, Keziah, Jesse and Ludson. The naming pattern makes them look extremely promising as being connected to the Fosters I'm researching in Independence Co., Arkansas. So far I haven't found any online information that indicates that anyone has looked closely at this Jesse. He could be the father of a lot of untraced Fosters. If I'm right, this could answer a lot of longstanding questions about a whole lot of the Fosters who were in northern Mississippi and migrated to Arkansas around 1840.
Does anyone have anything on the Tippah Co. Fosters?
