Tom,
Hopefully we can answer the Questions with the Foster DNA project. As you may know my ancestor Tilman / Tiglman Foster was born in 1800to William Foster and wife Sarah / Married Francis Tucker & lived close to your Foster family. William Tilman's father for some reason was drawn to Rowan County and the Forks of the Yadkin to live close to James Foster , Robert Foster, Samuel (James son) South east of present day Mocksville N C.
Bob Foster has recently advised me the Tighlman family lived in Colonial Md at the time of the Fosters.
Yet Tilman spelled his name Tilman as did the Fosters of 1700 Colonial Va who moved to Tenn. Did Samuel Foster the census Captain spell Tilman's name as Tiglman since his family was from Md ?
Hopefully I'll match up toeither the Maryland Fosters descendants or the VaFosters ifmembers submit their DNA via the Project. Test Sample is obtained via a
Scraping of the enter cheek to collect cells.
I should get results in 4 to 6 weeks then I'll start looking for a match if any other Fosters participate.
The Colonies of Pa- Md- and Va joined close to where all those Fosters / Frsters Immigrated from England and started out before moving to NC. Members moved on to Tenn and Kentucky .
