Hello All,
I received a request this morning from Edward Foss regarding his grandfather. He (Lester) does not appear to be in my Foss line.
Here is attached his email. I will forward any replies 'til he gets onboard.
"Hello: I came across your name while searching for past members of my own family, the Fosses of Biddeford, Maine, particularly on my grandfather Lester Arthur Foss's side of the family. He was born on January 15, 1884 in Biddford where he grew up and worked as a railway freight clerk for the B & M RR. I know very little of his parents and those who preceded them, but am trying to learn more. His wife, my grandmother, kept very thorough geneological which were inadvertently destroyed by my father(her son) some years after her death in 1952, so I am essentially starting to work backward from scratch. I have found eight generations worth of information about her side of the family, the Staples, but very little of his or of my maternal grandparents who lived in Kennebunkport(Arundel), Maine. If you can be of any help, it will be much appreciated. My name is Edward Lowell Foss, I'm 74 years old, and was also born and grew up in Biddeford, Maine. Lester had a cousin George who lived in Standish, Maine and another who lived in Biddeford. He also had two brothers, both of whom died when they were very young, so I was told. THanks. Ed"
