In the 1920 census of Garfield, Bergen, NJ, a Flavious Foss, born Dec 1899 in Bangor, Maine(date found in 1900 census of Bangor) was married to a Rose age 19.
They were living with his widowed mother, Carrie M. Foss and a married sister Rena, and her son.
Probably just married, so a marriage certificate could be found in Garfield. Census date was Jan 19 1920- so before that.

His name was Flavius O.B.Foss.
It appears the spelling depended on the census taker.

In 1930 FO Foss age 30, b. ME had just remarried- wife named Anna and they had a 9m old daughter named June.
Living in Bergen Cty. NJ.
