1850 Saco Twp., York Co., ME
Name: NEWMAN FOSS Age: 14 Estimated birth year: abt 1836 Birth place: Maine [Mass.? - see 1860 census] Gender: Male Home in 1850: Saco, York, Maine. Sept. 5, 1850 Pg. 339. Listed in the household of Enoch L. Deering. Newman is listed in the same dwelling as the an elder Merriam Deering. This dwelling seems to be of two on the property. Uncertain of the relationship of this family. Upon searching further on the Deering family, it has been found the elder Merriam Deering maiden name was Pillsbury/Pilsbury and had married Joseph Deering Aug. 1, 1812. This Merriam was a sister to Anna Pillsbury/Pilsbury who 1st married a Benjamin FOSS in 1824 and 1840 marr. a second time to a Daniel Smith.
