Mary, I checked the "appendices" from "Annals of the Fosdick Family. There were several "Henry" Fosdicks. After eliminating those who died in infancy, those who had no children, etc. There was only one left that fit your time frame. Here iswhat it says, word for word.

vi. Henry Nicoll, b.1 Sep 1808; d. 6 Sep 1841. His son Sylvester was in the Confederate army, and the late Robert C. Fosdick, of Mobile, Al., was a grandson.

It also said that all children except for the last was born in New London (Conn. I presume).

If you want a copy of the "appendices", I got mine from the Tennesse State Library. They would not let the book out but will make copies of what you request.
