In the Chicago Irish Families, 1875-1925, I found:
Fortune, Peter, Cook County commissioner, born in Roundtown, outside Dublin. He was a proprietor of a grocery store in 1856 at the corner of Polk and Desplaines st. In 1865 he became one of the best known brewer's in Chicago. His wife died in Sept., 1886, at the age of 37 yrs at their residence, 209 S. Green st. She went to Colorado to improve her health, but died there. She was the mother of five children, only two of whom survived her. -Sept. 11, 1886 (2) (21)
