Benj T Adams of Elbert Co GA is the son of Abner Adams & Betsy A Fortson. Ben m Cynthia Freeman Autry (she was from Calhoun Co AL) in Cherokee Co TX in 1856. They had 2 chldren & were on the 1860 census for that Co. Ben died of measles while home on leave from the Civil War about 1865 & Cynthia remarried in 1867 to a Robt Bostick of AL. I had wondered why he went to that area but some of the other Fortsons must have been there - or maybe they came there to be close to Ben. The plot thickens!
