Hi Jim. I descend from Frederick? to Thomas 1716, Thomas Jr. 1742, William George. 1774 m. Ann Higginbotham, Aaron J. b. 1816 who was father to Jeptha M. Fortson m. Margaret Eliz. Riley in Panola Co.Texas. So, I don't know what to call this branch, perhaps, Elbert Co.Ga.? My great grandfather Jeptha M. was born 1845 Leake Co. Ms. and after the war, migrated from La. to Texas, settling in Gregg Co.Tx. and is last noted in the 1910 census Gregg Co.Tx.
I have messages in this forum # 43,47,67,86,78, and have just about given up on contacting Fortsons through this forum. I belive they have all died out. Glad to hear from you. Carol Jones
