father, Samuel Higginbotham Fortson, born in 10 June 1799 in Elbert Co. Georgia, 1st marriage Vilate Higginbotham (8 Dec 1819) in Elbert Co.
2nd marriage to Mary Alford 14 Jan 1829 in Greene Co. Alabama.
children: Nancy Jane Fortson b. ca 1827
William George Fortson b June 1832
Joseph Gail Fortson b. 12 Feb 1834
Sara Alford Fortson b. ca 1837

I am a gggrandson of Joseph Gail and of the line that moved from Lauderale Co. Mississippi to Brown Co. Texas.
