There was a Jeremiah M. Fortner, son of Benjamin Fortner, gggrandson of Effel/Ethel/Etheldred Fortner who went to Gober, TX (Fannin County) from Tennessee (after the civil war?). He was married to Desdemona "Desty" Marie Boren from GA. Jeremiah was a cotton farmer there and built a big house. There are a lot of Fortners in the hist/gean records in that area. Could they be who you are looking for?
