Hi Cousin Earl

Yes this is the same Fortman Family that we both belong to. (although my connection is by marriage only.) My father-in-law was Murray Henry Fortman son of Arthur Henry Fortman and his second wife Mary Bella Young. Arthur was the son of Charles Fortman and Annie Amelia Lee. Charles Fortman was the son of John E. Fortman. That is where I am stuck. I cannot seem to break the barrier from Canada to Germany.

Charles Fortman would be an uncle to your great grandfather Henry Edward Fortman.

Yes I know about Tapleytown Cemetery. That is where my father-in-law Murray Fortman and mother-in-law Violet Fortman nee Travis are buried along with Billy Fortman and others.

I have just checked my version of the Fortman Family tree and although it is quite extensive, I do not have your mother's name on my family tree. Perhaps I do have it but under a different name. What is your mother's full name and the name of her parents? I would like to make sure I have everyone connected to the Fortman's on my family tree.

I am thrilled to hear that someone else now is researching the family and I am anxiously waiting for your reply

Donna Fortman
