Chip I am also a descendant of this family..The spelling of Fortesque is how my mother always told us it was....I am a Great Great Great Granddaughter of John Fortescue, born in Devon...1803...He married Anna Maria Tout so we believe...if you have any information as to whether this is correct I would be very grateful...
