Jemima Fortenberry & Mason Williams
Mason Williams, born about 1814 in Mississippi, married Jemima (Fortenberry) Riley. Jemima Fortenberry was born Dec 8 1833 in Simpson County, Mississippi. She married first George Washington Riley who died in the Civil War. Jemima then married Mason Williams. Mason and Jemima can be found on page 408C of the 1880 Young County, TX Census. Jemima may have operated a boarding house in Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto County, TX after leaving Young County. I would like some help in determining when Jemima died and where her grave is located.
No known children were born to Mason and Jemima.
Only two of Jemima's children by her first husband married and had families; James Edward Riley (1858-1936) married Amanda Caylor and they had 3 children. John Jackson Riley (1862-1923) married Harriet May Vaughn and they had 15 children.
Thanks, James A. Riley
