Hello again Colin,
Wow, thank you for all that information!
Yes, the surname of Harriet Sarah is JESSE not Tesse.
I have Beatrice Emily Fort born 1892
Robert Hamilton Fort born 1893. You can see these records in the British Columbia archives online. Type in bcarchives to find them. Just type in the surname and you will get births, marriages and deaths.
George Yalden Fort born 1893.
It does look like Beatrice Emily Fort and Robert Hamilton Fort stayed in British Columbia.
A lady in England found a newspaper announcement for the birth of Edward's daughter. It says: (from the Times, November 1933)
FORT-On November 5, 1933 at a nursing home, Salisbury, to Penelope, wife of Edward D. Fort - a daughter.
I don't know if they had more children.
I also don't know if there were any children for Helena Constance (Fort) Wykes or any other details for Helena.
Robert Hamilton Fort served in W.W.1 along with his brothers Edward Dimond Fort and George Yalden Fort.
Robert Hamilton Fort appears to have had a commercial photography business started in 1929, retiring in 1960 in B.C. Died 1974. I don't know if he had any children.
Do you know of a lady named Patricia Hartley? She is descended from Edward Fort's cousin Lucy Dorothea Fort. Their fathers were brothers. I have not corresponded with her but was given this information from someone else who was not related.
I also found this interesting information about a William Brougham Monkhouse (b. 1732) who was a surgeon who sailed with Captain Cook on the "Endeavour". William's brother Johnathan Monkhouse (b.1750) who was a midshipman, who also sailed with Captain Cook.
Hope this helps. Let me know.
