John W. Forsythe and Sarah C. McCoy (1849-1909) Highland Co., Ohio
OBITUARY
Died, of Bright's disease on Dec. 29, 1909, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Sarah C. Forsythe, aged 60 years 4 months and 28 days.
She was born August 1, 1849 at the residence of her grandfather, Daniel McCoy, on the Sugartree Ridge and Fairfax road, Highland county, Ohio. Here she grew up to womanhood and at the age of 18 was united in marriage to John W. Forsythe.
This union proved a very happy one and through all their trials and struggles with poverty and sickness extending over a period of thirty-seven years, their devotion to each other deepened from year to year.
Mr. Forsythe, husband of the deceased, was a good man but was of a roving disposition as is evidenced by the fact that during his married life he, with his family, resided in at least twelve of our western states and visited about as many more. Not withstanding his wanderings he finally prospered and upon his death which resulted from inuries sustained in a street car wreck in Los Angeles, Cal., six years ago, he left his wife well provided for.
Since the death of her husband, Aunt Kitty, as she was affectionately known, has been making her home with her children. She leaves to mourn her loss three brothers, three sisters, three daughters and a host of friends in almost every state west of the Mississippi.
She was indeed a noble woman, a true wife, a gentle mother, a loving sister and kind friend.
