I am looking for the father of Lemuel Forsyth/e, born about 1834 Shelby Co. OH. Someone somewhere suggested it might be a Jacob Forsyth, so I have been looking at all individuals alive at that time that I can find. One interesting one I found in Pittsburgh, involved in merchanting, banking; kind of an entrepreneur type, I would guess, partnering with a George Clark who married his sister Catherine. They bought a lot of land near Chicago, and are written about in the local history of Whiting, Shelbyville, Shelby CO. Ill, are also linked with these names.
My wild imagination is wondering whether there is a relationship with Shelby Co. OH. Does anyone have more info on this subject?
