Your information seems to come from "A History of the Forsyth Family", Jennie Forsyth Jeffries, 1920.I wrote another article: "Review: A History of the Forsyth Family" [http://ancestorsnow.com/tree/tjforsythe/articles_N101.php] which explains why this book should not be used for any authority on this family.
You might want to follow the links on my website from these articles to Alexander and Rachel and then onto their children.
Firstly, Alexander and Rachel certainly married by 1769 when he was listed as an inmate in the Charleston, Chester County, Penn. tax records, and probably before 1765 if we can believe the 1810 census record for their oldest son Isaac (my ancestor) which shows him born before 1766.
Next, Josias Thompson married Jane (not Mary) Forsyth (http://ancestorsnow.com/tree/tjforsythe/sources_S164.php)
I don't have a complete list of their children. All I know with any probability is from the 1923 letter of Thomas Hitselberger where he claimed they had a daughter named Cecelia.I am still working on filling in the blanks on this family. If you have any reliable sources for Josias and Jane Thomspon or for any of the related Forsyth family I'd be very interested in hearing of them.
Good luck with your researches,
Tim Forsythe
