I am looking at a Forsyth family group as follows:
William Forsyth and Margaret Gray (married about 1784)
Children (all born Minto, Roxburghshire):
Thomas Forsyth (b. 1784)
Peter Forsyth (b. 1785 - d. 1868 Leith, Edinburgh)
Betty (or Elizabeth) Forsyth (b. 1787 - d. 1832 Hawick)*
John Forsyth (b. 1790 - d. 1871 Jedburgh)
Peggy or Margaret Forsyth (b. 1794)
* I am descended from Elizabeth Forsyth who married William Tait at Wilton, Roxburghshire in 1813. Both William and Elizabeth died in Hawick in 1832, before Civil Registration began, so it is almost impossible to prove that she belonged to the Minto family. A family headstone might be the only proof I will ever find.
I would be pleased to hear from anyone who is researching the Forsyth family of Minto, Roxburghshire, Scotland.
