I'm writing from the UK in an attempt to trace what would be second cousins in Australia with family name of Forsyth. I believe that my grandmother Elizabeth Lang (nee Forsyth) was born in or near Glasgow, Scotland around 1900. She married my grandfather James Lang. They lived in the Queen's Cross / Maryhill area of Glasgow. They had 4 children, Jean, Janet (Etta(my mother)), Hilda & James. Elizabeth Lang (nee Forsyth) had 2 brothers George & Harry Forsyth who, possibly with their parents, emigrated to Australia around 1928. We know they went to Sydney. George fought with the Australian army in WW2, was captured by the German Army in Crete, & was liberated. On his way home he stayed at the Overseas Club in Glasgow, & met my family. This would be 1945. Harry we believe served in the Merchant Navy - we have no record of him returning from Australia. George married Isobel Russell & had a daughter Isa Forsyth. Harry had a son Ian (Iain ??) Forsyth - we don't know his wife's name. We think both children, ie Isa & Ian would be around 70 years old now. If you can help in any way, however small, in my search, I would be extremely grateful. Regards, Alan Kydd 07958 697645 (mobile) Notify Administrator about this message?
