It is five years since the original posting, but curiously 101 years since the answer was prepared. Part of the answer is typed below complete with original spelling variations. I have considerably more information and recently visited the tombstones of many of the people mentioned- buried in Tasmania. The main variation from the previous posting is John (1815) spouse name. On the tombstone John's wife is listed as Helen Randall, but the Tasmanian Pioneers Index lists her as Ellen Randall. A John Forsyth married a Helen Randell in Muiravonside in 1852 and this could be a match.

"1st November 1904
The History of our ain folk. M
Ma fethers fathers name was Jimmie Forsyth & he lived in Lauriston which is a little place a mile from the east side of Falkirk and situated in Stirlingshire. He had a wife whose name was Margaret Calender and he died and left his widow, 2 sons & 2 daughters. William Jamie and John were the boys names & the girls Janet & Isabel.. They were not left extra much but the owned the house in which they lived & also another one which they let. William married a wife and her name was Agnes Bane. Janet was the next eldest & she married a fellow called George & Isabel lived an old maids life. But young Jock was married when he was 19 years old to a scotch lassie called Margaret Oswald who folk lived in Muiravonside parish & owned 2 farms there called “Melons Place and Cannyend”. Her fathers name was James Oswald & her mothers name was Mary Fisher & her grandmothers name was Margaret Walker. This couple bought a house and settled & Launiston & reared their family there. They had 7 children named Mary Margit James Janet Isabel & John & as the eldest Mary died when she was 9 years old"

More transcript information and my own additions are available. Would especially like to hear from anyone with Laurieston census data from 1841, 51, 61,71 and back tracing of John's (1815) parents James Forsyth and Margaret Callandar.
