Whitehall, December 9th, [1715]
Letters from the Camp at Stirling of the 4th Instant, say they had Intelligence that the Rebels under the Earl of MAR had sent off part of their Baggage to Dunkeld, about 14 Miles North of Perth and that they were providing a great Quantity of Meal at that Place. An Express was just come to the Camp, with an Account that a Ship was arrived at Leith, having on board betwee 3[00] and 400 men of the Dutch Troops and that so many of the rest of those Troops as went by Sea, were hourly expected. (Brigadier) Grant's Regiment having received their Cloathing [sic] at Edinburgh, the Duke of Argyle had ordered them to join him in the Camp.
