Hi Craig,

Great to hear from you and I really must thank you so much for all the information you have sent me. The baptism for CHARLES FORSTER that you have found looks very promising indeed.

Do you think that your ANN FORSTER could possibly be a sister of JOHN FORSTER, possible father of my CHARLES FORSTER?

I have long suspected that CHARLES came from the Congleton/Astbury area, but it was only recently proved to me by the baptism of his and Hannah's first child in Astbury. Also, I have just recently thoroughly searched the parish registers of Sandbach where the family lived but there were no Charles Forsters baptised there, and in fact, the Forster name was as scarce as hens teeth in that town so they obviously came from elsewhere.

Unfortunately I am unable to get to my local LDS centre at the moment as the hours have been cut back so drastically of late that it is very difficult for me to get there, but as soon as the hours extend again, or, alternatively, I can change my own agenda, I will order in the films you suggest and see if I can find any clues based on what you have told me.

I think it is highly probable that we originate from the same family, so I hope we can work together and see if we can't work this out.

I am already in contact with three other people who originate from the family of CHARLES & HANNAH FORSTER. Would you like their names and e-mail addresses? One of them lives in Crewe which is very close to Astbury, so she may be able to have a look around for us "on the spot" so to speak.

I am going to be changing my e-mail address sometime soon as we are going over to broadband, and as soon as we do I will write and let you know my new address. In the meantime though, if you want to contact me, I can, for the time being anyway, be reached at

All the best, and again, many thanks for contacting me. Are you in the States?
