With regard to a Forshaw family crest I doubt there is one. I have been searching for quite some time and have had no luck. Let me rephrase that: no luck that I would call reliable and definitely nothing free.

Having said that I have come across many assertions of a Bretton origin including a coat of arms. The Bretton origin seems to centre around a night named Fougere (sorry I can't remember the exact spelling) in the Battle of Hastings.

The description of the coat of arms I have heard of is a blue background with a horizontal stripe of gold and red diamonds. I would need to see historical documentation before I would buy it though (both literally and figuratively) so beware.

It's pretty simple to find on the web. Try starting from The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints has a useful search engine too (no I'm not a member).

On another point - my experiences on this site have all been positive. I find people very helpful when they can answer your questions. Sometimes it takes a while though - but that's to be expected.

And I promise to share any information I get and answer any questions that I run across and think I can answer.

Anyway, good luck with your search.
