Hello Bob and thanks for the reply. Yea, I am descendant of the Greenville area Foristers, Forristers, Forresters... etc... I have found information as far back as my G-G-Grandfather, William Henry Forister I and suspect that his father was also named William Forister (or Forrister), through census records, but nothing yet confirmed. The second W. H Forister was born around 1861 or so he married Lille Porter in 1892. My G-grandfather was the oldest child that I am aware of. I have heard that some of this same family moved out to Tenn. and Georgia; and later to MO and TX; but who went and how they are connected escaped me. I would love to bridge the gap, but the numerous variations of the spelling make it very difficult. So far I have encountered the following methods of spelling the same name: Forester, Forrester, Forrister, Forister, Farrister, Farister, Foister, Forest, and Forist, and now you add Foster. I have met some Forresters online that say that we spell the name correctly (Forister), or at least how our branch considers correct... who's to know. Keep in touch and I'll share information as I find it out. Jason Notify Administrator about this message?
