If this is the correct line, what you are seeing is the flight of Loyalists from the USA to Canada after being on the losing side of the Revolution. The Forresters were a seafaring line prominent in Rhode Island as participants in the triangle trade (slaves, rum, molasses). You can also see their emigration back to the US over the next 100 years.
